A Retrofit Hot Water Solar System from £2,999
What we won't do is.......
Make false claims or promises regarding the pay back period or what you will save on your energy bills.
What we will do is.......
Earn up to £567 per year for 20 years as a cash back for having a hot water solar panel installed under the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme
To qualify for this you will need
- An Energy Performance Certificate (Sap Report) - we will do this free
- To upgrade loft insulation/cavity wall insulation - we will do this free
- A consultation of what renewable energies are suitable to your property
- To have installed Microgeneration Certificated Scheme products by us
- Have an annual service scheme in place
Any (MCS) Products installed after July 2009 will be eligible for cash back in
April 2011 from Ofgem.
Solar Panels
Our solar panels are generally installed within 2 days with minimal disruption.
The use of solar panels to heat water is becoming increasingly popular around the world due to the energy saving and money saving associated with this method.
A good solar hot water panel system is able to provide an average household with around a third of its annual hot water supply. While this may not sound much, it can reduce energy costs by a considerable amount.
The combination of a solar hot water panel with other renewable energy technologies, such as The Ecocent (air source heat pump) hot water cylinder and heat recovery unit, can work well together in providing a source of cheap, clean, and renewable energy for homes.
Combining together as many renewable energy sytems as possible is the key to having the most efficient , so be sure to consult an expert in this field when planning installation.

The Ecocent
Air Source Heat Pump, Hot Water Cylinder, Heat Recovery and Ventilation from £2,500
An innovative and versatile combined heat pump and hot water cylinder to operate as a stand alone unit or in conjunction with other renewable energy systems (e.g. solar panels). Available in a range of sizes from 150 to 300 litres (500 litres available to order) this single unit comes complete with:
- Air to Air Heat Pump
- Heat Recovery and Ventilation
- Fully insulated Hot Water Cylinder
- Integral Heat Exchanger
- Solar Coil
- Backup immersion heater
- Control panel
- Copper pipe inlet & outlet
This Ecocent unit only consumes 800w of electricity, which is much less than an electric kettle! This small amount of electrical energy is used to drive the integrated air source heat pump and produces all the hot water you need.
New regulations will limit the tap outlet temperature of domestic hot water to 45°C (primarily to avoid the risk of scalding) and to comply with those regulations, our Ecocent unit is designed to operate most efficiently in the 40 - 50°C temperature range.
The Ecocent unit in most situations is a better option than solar panels, and can be supplied and installed for less than half the cost of a solar panel system. It can provide 100% of your hot water requirements and unlike solar panels will provide hot water at night and in the shorter winter days.
The Ecocent unit can even provide central heating for smaller homes and apartments! It has the addition of an integrated solar coil, which will link directly to solar panels if preferred. The use of solar panels can assist in meeting the ‘better homes’ targets for new builds and refurbishments, and when used in conjunction with the Ecocent unit will provide all of the benefits with none of the drawbacks.
Thin Film Solar Panels (CIGS)
There is now a new form of solar panel being produced called thin film solar. It is manufactured the same way as a newspaper is printed; just by simply printing on a continuous backing. In the case of these new solar panels the backing is a thin aluminium sheet, the cigs (copper indium gallium selenide) is the conductor and is printed just like an ink on paper. This new form of solar panel is not as efficient as silicon based solar panels but the cost in manufacturing is significantly lower and incredibly faster to produce. These solar panels can be formed into many shapes and sizes unlike the silicon based panels and, no doubt we will all be hearing more about this in the future.
